I am sure that you want to achieve your goals, live better life, be happy, help others and be remembered as someone who made a difference. First, you need to discipline yourself to success. From my experience, there is couple of things you should do. Make it a habit, daily routine, practice until it becomes automatic for you.

There 7 disciplines that I learned from internationally known Business and Success teacher Brian Tracy, that would definitely make a difference in your life, as it did in mine.

Set Your Goals

Before you discipline yourself to success, write you goals on a piece of paper every morning, preferable the first hour of your waking. This is when your brain is most capable of getting new information in, and reprogramming your focus. Writing your goals will stimulate your mind and make your mind to be alert for new opportunities and possibilities that will come your way.

 Plan Your Day Ahead

Every evening, take a piece of paper and write it down all the activities that you think you will need to do tomorrow. Do it everyday, that is only way how to discipline yourself to success. That will set your mind for the best outcome. Better than that, imagine those activities as they already happened the way you want them to. As you go through tomorrow’s day, as soon new activity or thing that you need to do shows up, write it down. Always work from a list.

Setting Priorities

There is no way you will manage your time effectively if you don’t know what are the most things that you need to concentrate on. There are millions of things that we can do all day; unfortunately, we don’t have enough time for all of it. It will help you tremendously to rank everything that you need to do, and then you can concentrate your time and energy on things that matter.

Concentration

When you are done with your list that is priority rated, now you can concentrate on the things that will give you most of value. Work with one thing at the time. Concentrate your energy on your most important task. Shifting between two or three tasks cuts your concentration and waists energy. It takes time to catch up and remember what you already done in the previous task.

Eat Right and Exercise

Without proper nutrition, constant exhaustion, sleep deprivation, dehydration, and lack of exercise, our brain can go only that far. No matter how high your goals are, if you have no energy or health to get up and go enjoy that new yacht, was it worth getting it in the first place? Are you full of energy to enjoy things in life when they finally come along?

Learn and Grow

To achieve great results athletes train to attune their muscles. Brain is a muscle, and we have to train it. Without learning new things there is no progress. It is necessary always to read, listen about new things in your field, and attend classes, seminars. Technology is so high performance right now that you can learn master’s degree in four years, just by listening CD’s in your car on the way to work. Always be curious about other new things that show up on the market, in your field, in the area that you are interested in.

Get Connected

Spend time with your family and friends as much as possible.  You need to make sure that when you buy that yacht there are people that will be happy to enjoy it with you.  Get involved in the community, help people in need, meet new people. You just never know who you will meet that helps you in your new project.

And the most important discipline is to follow these disciplines and implement in your life!
